Pat Smith & Company has been building custom homes, restoring early Fredericksburg homes, and doing custom remodeling in Fredericksburg and the surrounding Hill Country since 1982. The company has been selected as the contractor in the remodeling and restoration of numerous historic Fredericksburg buildings including the old Radio Post Newspaper building on Main St., the Bierschwale property on Main St. and the old White Oak Schoolhouse. Pat Smith & Company was also the builder of the Old Mill Settlement which is a complex of log cabins and rock structures at the west end of Travis Street.

Pat Smith started the first complete wood flooring business in Fredericksburg in 1984 becoming one of the first wood flooring professionals in the Gillespie County area. In the past twenty years, Pat has completed approximately two thousand wood floors in and around Central Texas. Click Original Wood Floors to see completed flooring projects.

As a result of their continued involvement in restoration and remodeling projects, Pat Smith & Co. opened their own custom woodworking shop in 1997. The shop focused on building custom doors and windows, but soon expanded into custom cabinets, wardrobes, bookcases and other specialty pieces.  The company is especially proud of the ability to design and build the "unusual" such as a fourteen-foot tall working cypress water wheel.

The word 'company' in Pat Smith & Co. refers to my employees.  Without them and their knowledge, ability, and desire to produce a quality product, there would be no business. Whether building a custom home, remodeling a home, restoring a structure, crafting a custom entry door or installing a wood floor, you can be assured of our commitment to quality and superior craftsmanship." - Pat Smith, Owner
